Fiona & Steven shared their love as a couple with their friends and family recently, making a monumental moment in their lives as partners celebrating their marriage together.
The couple had chosen the very opulent and grand venue, Hopetoun House in the outskirts of Edinburgh. The Scottish Stately Home is a Divine wedding venue, which really provided a glorious backdrop to their special day.
When originally meeting Fiona & her family, she wanted the wedding to reflect the couples personality, for those that have met the lovely leading lady herself would know that any design reflecting her personality, would certainly be stylish and with just the perfect dose of glamour....
Although Fiona & Steven were bringing a modern & alternative look to their wedding, Fiona wanted to maintain traditional elements to the overall Design. The flowers crafted by our Designers had the modern elements while maintaing the traditional White Wedding Look.
The Bridal Party Florals included a collection of roses including Norma Jean Roses; White Dolomiti Roses & David Austin Roses. At the request of the clients we also used the beautifully sweet scented freesia along with White Dahlias.
The overall Event Design & Look we created with the clients was to highlight the beautiful structural features within the stately home itself, while bring a piece of the couples personality to the Event Design.
We installed Large & Lavish floral arrangements above each of the Grand Fireplaces at Hopetoun House. The delicate white roses, wood-lit fires & smell of eucalyptus created the perfect ambience for welcoming the guests onto the estate.
During one of the first Design Sessions prior to the wedding with Fiona and her family, we quickly understood how important it was for the couple to entertain their loved ones and also make them feel relaxed to enjoy the overall celebrations of the day. When creating a look for Fiona & Steven
we wanted to humanise the Ballroom slightly, such a large space can be intimidating for guests at a wedding. The abundance of flowers and foliages created a glamorous country-esque look, but the textures & natural colour brought additional warmth to the Entrance Hall, Bar & Grand Ballroom.
Fiona wanted to have lots of candles and lights around the stately home to create a pretty & whimsical feel, we created centrepieces for the guest tables including the her concept of pretty lighting.
We used Matt Gold candelabras to pare with her chosen colour palette of white,
champagne & gold. When selecting the flower arrangements for the tables, Fiona wanted some of the tables to have flowers on the table and we recommended that we created a varied look with high and low florals, again this was to humanise the space and bring that warmth to the Ballroom.
The centrepieces looked AMAZING, the blend of traditional white flowers, mixed foliages & varied height not only enhanced the Ballroom, but brought an instant feel of understated elegance.
The top table was draped with delicate White Roses and an understated Berry Eucalyptus garland. Because the Top Table was positioned in-front of the Grand Fireplace in the Ballroom, the florals on the top table needed to be able to accentuate the bride & groom without clashing with the lavish mantel place arrangement.
To complete the overall Event Design, Fiona had selected our lovely Champagne Sequin Linens, Limewash Chiavari Chairs with Ivory seat pads, Glass Charger Plates & Ivory Linen Napkins.
Entering the Set Ballroom at Hopetoun house, well..
All we can say is that, the Event Design had certainly captured the couples personality!
It was an absolute pleasure to have worked with Fiona, Steven & their lovely family!
We loved working on Fiona & Stevens wedding from the moment we met Fiona, her lovely sister Ellen & their mum at The Scottish Wedding Show - right-up until the moment we looked back over our shoulders into the Hopetoun Ballroom for one final final check...
We only wish Fiona, Steven & their family the very best wishes for the future!
