CORA'S "HOT" LIST } WEDDING DESIGN

Well Darling... I am super excited to share with you some of the hottest wedding design looks that have inspired me recently! But first let me introduce myself, I have been one of the managing partners at Ginger&Lime, Event Design & Floristry since we first began the business back 2013! Over the years I have seen many amazing wedding looks and better still, had the opportunity to work closely with my amazing clients in designing looks and creating their Flowers & Event Designs.

In seeing an increase in Boho designs across fashion and interior designs over the past 12 months, some influence has certainly been stricken from one special lady. Frida Kahlo has inspired yet another generation with her surrealism artworks, although her workings are bizarre and leaning towards a dark self awareness of herself, The use of bright bold colors, statement floral pieces and use of tropical foliages strikes an image of complete freedom in design and also a sense of relaxed design influence. Portraying an important image of Mexican Culture and Tradition is something that has influenced current design looks, I am certainly all for Latin influence.

In taking the BOHO concept and turning this into a "Look" or especially a "Wedding Look" isn't as difficult as one would think! I'm Talking bright and colorful florals, with the use of textures gained from items such as: Amaranths, Orange Protea & Palm Leaves Galore! Something I have gotten excited about in design is the ever emerging Aztec Fabrics available on the market just now, bright colorful and the perfect choice to add depth to your look. "Viva Mexico" is certainly something that your guests would not forget in a hurry!

Recently I had the pleasure of creating a Frida Mexican inspired floral display and the response was fantastic from the clients who attended The Wedding Collective, Woodside Warehouse (Image Below).

S O   H O T   D O W N   H E R E } I have listed some key essentials in creating a wedding look inspired with a Latin feel, but don't forget in your look it is most important to carry a feel for design throughout the whole day. So yes, I am talking bright red lips ladies and margaritas on tap!

Thank you for reading and I hope that my "Hot List" can provide you with some inspiration in designing your own wedding look! Just remember to have fun with it, and just like Frida - Strike a complete look of freedom in your own design.

A loosely tied and fuller looking Bridal Bouquet is one of the prettiest

Looks this approaching wedding season. Large naturally shaped styles,

filled with luxurious various Peonies, Garden Roses and larger leaf eucalyptus

abundantly overflowing.

One of the hottest bridal bouquet & wedding looks this wedding season has to be anything Mexican inspired.

Bright shades of Orange, Yellow, Pink & Red are really heating-up wedding design in interesting and

ways. Swapping traditional weddings for salted Margarita's and Aztec Fabrics seems to be

hot on the style trend-setters list this summer, introducing this into your wedding design and flowers gives

a beautiful modern vibe.

For the inner "Earth-Godess" look no further than a Bridal Bouquet that literally boasts Earth Chic,

with an abundance of mixed crisp foliages and subtle florals tones throughout the bouquet.

Not to worry, no "Earth-Godess" would be complete without a gown detailed in beads and

the foliages won't even clash!

Introducing elements of your gown or personality is always a great option for

brides when they are designing their Bridal Bouquet with their florist designer.

Bringing tones of colour used in the design of your gown works beautifully,

as pictured a Marsala ribbon has been attached to the gown & we simply paired the ribbon

on the flowers to match the gown look.

Something to look out for in the floral trends of 2016 and 2017 is the use of more international

blooms, such as Protea - originating from South Africa. The protea looks stunning in any

deep coloured bouquet! Another flower to lookout for is the Orchid, the lovely oriental

flower has been revived and is looking exceptional in wedding design now!

For the traditional sort of lady, classic looks of grouped roses always

makes a statement without going too large or abundant. A simplistic

effort of Bridal Bouquet, but nether the less; Timeless and absolutely

gorgeous.

ALTERNATIVE OPULENCE

Ginger&Lime, Event Design and Florist had the great pleasure of collaborating with one of our favourite photographers Emma Lawson at the iconic Edinburgh wedding venue The Assembly Rooms

We wanted to combine scene of "Traditional White Wedding" with a more alternative finish. In designing around the space, taking into account the overall grandeur of The Assembly Rooms we combined luxe textures with bold colours and alternatively arranged fresh white flowers.

SANDRA + GORDON

Ginger&Lime had the greatest pleasure of working with Sandra and Gordon for their beautiful elegant wedding day at The Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews. Our team designed the overall look for the clients and provided Wedding Floristry & Event Design.

In creating the overall look we used Limewash Chiavari Chairs with a Lilac Base, Champagne Sequin Tablecloths & Ombre Style Napkins (Lilac, Maude & Purple), complete with dried lavender. The fresh flowers crafted by our floristry team were absolutely gorgeous! Hundreds of stems of Hydrangea, Roses and seasonal flowers were all used in the creation of large urn arrangements, low centrepieces to pair with the Ginger&Lime 8 Arm Fine Crystal Candelabras & Rounded Floral Centrepieces were created to bring a touch of variation to the Ballroom.

RONA + CHRIS

Rona & Chris wanted something special from the Ginger&Lime Florists for their intimate wedding at Carnbooth House. We crafted the bridal party flowers around the Autumnal season with the use of mixed berries, rich tones of colour and included Eryngiums to give a Scottish vibe to the flower design. The overall look Rona wanted to create was an Autumnal Scottish with in keeping with the surroundings of the couples chosen venue.

Rona & Chris were married in the early evening at Carmunnock Parish Church, A beautiful touch for Autumnal weddings . it was truly a pleasure to be part of this lovely celebration!
